Facilities for students

Each UMANE consortium member will make available all the necessary staff and offices to guarantee the optimal running of the programme. In detail:

The University of Parma (Italy) will make available the following units:

  • The International Relations Office and its staff for the overall project management of the project and for organisation of the student and faculty mobility, including VISA and insurance practices;
  • The University Language Centre and its staff for all activities related to language preparation (both Italian for incoming and English for outgoing mobility);
  • The Erasmus Office for EU-to-EU mobility and for registration procedures for incoming mobility;
  • The “Sportello Università Casa” (Accommodation Office) for organising the accommodation of incoming students;
  • The support of ESN-ASSI student association for the organisation of social programmes aiming to facilitate integration of incoming mobility;
  • The University Campus Sports Centre for sports and free time.

 

The Universidad de Extremadura (Spain) will use the following structures:

  • The International Office for the overall management of mobility issues, including VISA, insurance, accommodation and registration procedures;
  • The Servicio de Español para Extranjeros (University Spanish Language Centre);
  • The Physical and Sports Activities Service, SAFYDE, for sports and free time;
  • The Cultural Activities Department, for the organization of social activities and programmes aiming to facilitate integration of incoming mobility, as well as all the available facilities at the University of Extremadura (libraries,  faculties facilities, etc).


In the case of US Universities:

  • Linguistic assistance will be provided by multi-language undergraduate students, both for teaching language and understanding the system;
  • Graduate and undergraduate faculty advisors will be available to assist EU students for the registration;
  • Each EU student will be also provided with an office space, a PC and internet access;
  • Campus housing will be reserved for EU students involved in the UMANE degree program;
  • A letter for VISA request will be sent at the appropriate moment to EU students for their applications for Visas;
  • Insurance will be available to EU students upon their arrival.

Each EU student will be also provided with an office space, a PC and internet access Prof. Layek Abdel-Malek from NJIT and Prof. Hoang Pham from Rutgers University will act as dedicated advisors from the UMANE degree programs. Moreover, campus housing will be reserved for EU students involved in the UMANE degree program. A letter for VISA request will be sent at the appropriate moment to EU students for their applications for Visas. Finally, insurance will be available to EU students upon their arrival.
