UMANE TRIPLE DEGREE ATLANTIS AWARD, 2013/2014
UMANE, an Atlantis Program supported by FIPSE/ EU, is pleased to invite IE students to apply for its 2013/2014 triple degree program. By the end of the equivalence of four year of undergraduate studies, eligible students shall qualify for receiving three (3) Bachelor’s degrees upon the fulfillment of the program requirements. The three degrees are from NJIT, University of Parma, and either Valencia Polytechnic University or the University of Extremadura.
Eligibility:
- IE undergraduates (US citizens or Permanent Residents.)
- At least junior standing by September 1, 2013.
- GPA: 3.00 or higher.
- Knowledge of Spanish and or Italian is preferred but not required
Number of Scholarships:
This year there are three (3) scholarships available, $12,000 each for travel and living expenses while abroad. Students shall be responsible for their tuition and fees as pertinent to NJIT for the academic year while studying abroad.
Application Process and Dates:
To receive full consideration, interested students should complete NJIT’s study abroad forms by March 15, 2013. The forms are at http://www.njit.edu/studyabroad/docs/study_abroad application.pdf
In addition to the information required in the forms, students should submit two paragraph describing their motivations and objectives to achieve while abroad. A committee will review the applicants’ vis-à-vis their eligibility and potential of successful completion of the triple degree option. The decision will be made by early April.

This is to ensure that the course requirements for receiving the degrees are met while they are abroad and upon their return if applicable.

UMANE Inbound Student Procedure
- Apply as transfer students by: Early April
- Send Transcript to Admissions Office or P.I by: Mid April
- IE Advisor will review the requirements and recommend acceptation by: Early May
- I-20 will be sent to accepted students by Admissions Office at: Early June
- List will be forwarded to the International Admissions office and Bursar’s office by: August 1st week
- Students Arrive from Europe by: Mid-August
- Each Student meets with IE advisor to set up program of study and set the courses required to receive NJIT degree by: Late August
- Advisor approves course transfer for each student by: Late September
- Registrar’s office post the courses transferred for each student by: End of October
